Staff from the Heart of Texas Council of Governments (HOTCOG) Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness program recently delivered weather-alert radios to Hillsboro ISD. The radios were donated through a program by Radio Shack Corporation and HOTCOG. The weather alert radios use NOAA Weather Radio’s Specific Area Message Encoding that provides emergency alert messages to specific areas. These radios will be provided to public school districts in Bosque, Falls, Freestone, Hill and Limestone counties.
